Loopus
Interactive dance installation

Loopus is an interactive visual dance installation. By linking a digital bpm-counter in a Clubstandard DJ-mixer and a computer running the multipurpose toolkit VVVV, the software records the movement of the performer using a Kinect infrared camera. It projects those images delayed by the time of one bar circle of the music. This way, the dancer can interact with himself and the music at the same time. The mixer´s faders are connected to various visual effects in VVVV via the MIDI-protocoll. Thus, while mixing, the DJ automatically alters the visuals continuously.
